Open local files and folders
Use the system picker to grant access to a specific file or folder instead of indexing all device storage.
1.Choose a local source
Open Add File Source on a supported platform and choose a local folder. Select a movie or TV directory in the system picker and grant access.
2.Check folder access
Confirm that files are listed. Keep external storage attached. Restore access if files move, permission expires, or cloud-backed local files have not downloaded.
3.Play or favorite the folder
Play one file, then favorite and index the folder as needed. On TV, use a NAS, cloud drive, or media server instead of these local-folder steps.
Before you finish
- Folder access is granted
- Storage remains available
- A file opens
